How to Get Your Hottest Hat in the World
A man in Tennessee has taken the crown of hat-making king, taking home the crown on his first attempt.
Tyler Kouts made headlines in January when he made the Guinness World Record for the largest hat, measuring over 2.3 feet (51 cm).
Kouts, a senior at Vermont High School, is the only student to ever complete a hat-building challenge.
The challenge was originally held at the school’s gym and the goal was to complete the challenge in four days, which took the hatmaker nearly two weeks to complete.
He said he had trouble getting to sleep during the time he was at school and was constantly hungry, but he still managed to complete it.
The hat he won was given to Kouts by his parents and has become his signature hat.
The hat, which measures nearly 4 feet (1.8 m) long and is about 10 inches (25 cm) wide, was made from 3,400 pieces.
His hat is still on display at the gym and he plans to make more hats for the school.
