Allina Healthcare is planning to move into new, more efficient building

Allina Health Care is moving its operations into a new, less costly building in Toronto, and the company is taking the first steps toward expanding in the region, CEO Anushka Ghosh said Tuesday.

The company said it is currently looking for a site for the new facility in Vaughan, Ont., and it has hired a developer to explore options for the site, which will be located at 5500 Queen Street West.

Ghosh also said that Allina plans to move its operations from the current facility in Brampton to the new building.

The company announced in January that it was planning to close its Brampton facility by the end of 2018.

Ghoshes company is already planning to open a new facility on the grounds of the Ontario College of Pharmacy in Mississauga.

In the past, the company has also planned to build a new pharmacy in Montreal.

The Ontario government has been reviewing Allina’s plan for its own new pharmacare, but has not given any indication of when it might make a decision.

Ghosh said the new company will be in a location that has the lowest cost of living in the area and will allow it to provide better care to the community.

The decision to move is a positive one, she said.

Allina currently operates in the Greater Toronto Area.

Its operations include several other pharmacy locations across the country, including in Ottawa, Vancouver and Montreal.
