Health care proxy provider, Healthcare.com, says it will cease operations in India
Health care company Healthcare.net has said it will stop providing healthcare proxy services to Indian companies.
In a statement, Healthcare Net said it is cancelling its proxy services with Indian companies, including the largest provider of healthcare proxy for the Indian market, All India Health Services (AIHS).
It also said it had received “concerns” over AIHS.
It said AIHS is the largest and most reputable provider of proxy services for healthcare in India.AIHS, which is headquartered in the US, had announced a merger with another Indian proxy provider in April.
The AIHS said it was not able to meet the terms of the merger agreement due to a lack of funding.AIDS said it would continue providing proxy services as a separate entity for India’s healthcare needs.AIHD has been providing healthcare proxies for over five years.AIHR said it has been actively seeking financial support for the future of AIHD, including for healthcare proxies, which have been instrumental in the rapid growth of AIHS in India, and AIHS will be taking steps to implement these policies.
The move comes days after Healthcare.
Net, the Indian internet portal and payment platform, said it plans to close down its Indian operations by the end of 2017.
In the statement, Health Care Net said the closure would result in significant costs to its stakeholders and to the global healthcare industry.
“We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that the closure of our Indian operations and its impact on our stakeholders and the global medical community are neither a reflection of our current state nor of the future trajectory of our business,” Healthcare Net chief executive Kunal Bahl said in the statement.
